New Jersey Beer Co is a young upstart brewery just entering its fourth year of business in “the garden state.” The company was originally opened by five college student friends who wanted to explore and share their passion for beer with the local community. The gang fell upon hard times when their bottling line broke. “We needed an uncle to bail us out,” CEO John McCarthy told Jersey City Independent. That’s when business savvy developer Paul Silverman stepped in. Since he had always wanted a brewery of his own, the New Jersey Beer Co was a perfect fit.
